Diana Tigerlily, Ph.D., is a registered yoga teacher, reiki practitioner, wellness consultant, university professor, and founder of Blue Heron Holistics. She draws upon her diverse education and experiences to create a safe space and address the unique needs and goals of each individual, one-on-one, online, and in group classes. Tigerlily has completed over 500 hours of yoga teacher training and over 1000 hours of yoga teaching, including training yoga teachers. She has studied with Judy Grier of Yoga East Healing Arts Center in the Kripalu tradition; and Lal Maharajh and Lorrie Conglose at Vastu School of Yoga in the Sivananda tradition. She furthered her yoga studies while a resident at the Sivananda Ashram in the Bahamas and continues deepening her skills as a reiki practitioner and wellness consultant. Tigerlily is currently pursuing her certification as an Ayurvedic Health Counselor from the California College of Ayurveda. She holds a Ph.D. in Communication Studies emphasizing Performance/ Embodiment, Gender, and Narrative; and an M.A. in English. She is a faculty member at SIUC where she teaches performance of personal story, spoken word poetry, feminism, and Yoga philosophy and practice. Tigerlily teaches Sivananda’s Rishikesh Sequence, Meditation, and Yin Yoga group classes. She offers face to face and online private yoga lessons, Reiki sessions, holistic wellness consultations, Yoga Teacher Trainings, and is also available for communication consulting, coaching, and editing work. As a registered Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider, Tigerlily offers workshops at area studios by invitation for attendees to earn continuing education credits. Tigerlily continues to be inspired by the Great Blue Heron as she deepens her yoga journey.
In the one-on-one setting, I customize individualized plans based on your personal goals and needs, through yoga, reiki, consultation, or a blend of all three. I offer private yoga sessions from beginners to advanced, for injuries, trauma, pregnancy, meditation practice, and breathing methods; reiki--a form of energy body work for relaxation, stress reduction, pain reduction, and balance; and wellness consultation, working with the client to equip them with the tools and motivation to cultivate and sustain holistic daily practices such as healthy eating, exercise, meditation, breathing, and positive thinking.
